At least four people have died due to record amounts of rainfall in Japan. Transportation was disrupted, and approximately 7,000 people were stranded at Narita Airport, Reuters reports.

According to the agency, more than 360 mm of rain fell in 24 hours in some areas of Chiba Prefecture, which borders Tokyo. About 25,000 households were left without power.

Furthermore, roads and railways were flooded. Major highways in Chiba, including routes connecting the airport to Tokyo, were closed, according to highway operator NEXCO East.
