Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and his son arrested

Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and his son have been detained.
Opposition MP from the "Armenia" bloc, Agnesa Khamoyan, told Azer News that former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan has been taken to the Anti-Corruption Committee.
According to Khamoyan, searches were conducted at the homes of Kocharyan and his youngest son, Levon Kocharyan. Several real estate properties belonging to the family were also inspected.
Former President's Chief of Staff Bagrat Mikoyan confirmed Kocharyan's detention. Armenian media sources reported that tax authorities have sealed a Toyota car dealership belonging to the Kocharyan family. In addition, investigative actions are being carried out at the Orange Fitness sports complex.
The events came a day after a verbal altercation in parliament between Levon Kocharyan and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the debate, Pashinyan threatened to deprive the MP of all his property, which Prime Minister Kocharyan said he could not leave to his children and grandchildren.
