**Japarov on Tashiyev: "Khamchi would be president, and I would go on vacation"**

Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov said in a recent interview that he sees Kamchibek Tashiyev, the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), as the head of state in the future. This was reported by Kaktus.media.

According to Japarov, he initially planned to support Tashiyev, not running for a second term. He noted that he has been family friends with the former SCNS chairman for more than 20 years.

"When I was released in 2020 and became president, I appointed him chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). Yes, he worked well for five years. But he had one flaw - he could not keep track of his friends and classmates. He left his job. Of course, a person is not without flaws. When a person works, there cannot be any flaws. He will remain my friend, but I have no intention of appointing him to any position," the Kyrgyz president said in an interview with journalist Ali Toktakunov.

Japarov said that after the end of his presidential term, he planned to go on vacation. Kamchibek Tashiyev could run in the 2027 elections.

"I thought that when my six-year presidential term ends in 2027, if Kamchi is ready, I will not run for president again. Kamchi will become president, and I will go on vacation. I had such a plan. I told him about it myself a year ago," the Kyrgyz president said.

He noted that he advised Tashiyev to be attentive to those around him and prepare for the election. However, later, according to Sadir Japarov, he changed his mind.

"I look back and see that he is not ready. His employees are not behaving as they say in the brochure, and the people around him have built a building for themselves. When the letter of 75 elders was published, when they began to divide the parliament among the general's supporters, I called him and said: "This will not happen. You can't divide people into two... That's why I said, 'Don't be upset, I'll relieve you of your post,'" Sadir Japarov recalled.

He stressed that he does not deny Kamchibek Tashiyev's contribution to the country.

"He needs to rest, maybe analyze, understand where he made mistakes. I'm far from saying that he alone made mistakes. No, there are results, his contribution to the success of our country is huge," said Sadir Japarov.

The leader of Kyrgyzstan announced that he would run for re-election in 2027.

"I intend to run for another term and continue my work. Whoever else wants to run, let him run. "We will not restrict anyone," he said.

The next presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan are scheduled for January 27, 2027.

**"75 letters"**

In February, 75 people sent an appeal to President Sadyr Japarov and the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh with a request to hold early presidential elections. The authors of the appeal were later detained, and criminal cases were opened against some of them. Kamchibek Tashiyev was dismissed from his post after this letter. At that time, President Sadyr Japarov said that the investigation and the court would determine the involvement of his friend Tashiyev in the "75 letters".

In a court hearing on June 29, Kamchibek Tashiyev called on prosecutors to drop the charges. Lawyers supported this initiative, but representatives of the prosecutor's office did not respond to the proposal, and on July 2, the court issued a verdict. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison with confiscation of property.

At the same time, the court imposed three years of probation on Tashiyev. Thus, the former chairman of the National Security Committee will not actually serve a prison sentence. On July 16, Tashiyev announced that he would not run for president and would support the incumbent president of Kyrgyzstan.
