Uzbekistan has begun to attract not only investors, but also foreign specialists who see the country as a place to live and work. Tatiana Bystrushkina, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan, reported this to a Podrobno.uz correspondent.
According to her, the situation has changed significantly over the past ten years. While previously many residents of Uzbekistan went abroad for study and work, now some compatriots are returning home, and foreign specialists are coming to the republic.
Bystrushkina herself is originally from Samarkand, but studied and worked in the UK. As an example of the growing interest in Uzbekistan, she cited the British, Italian, and Georgian delegations that visited the country last week. According to her, their representatives were interested in the opportunities to live and work in the republic.
Bystrushkina also emphasized that the government has created conditions for the development of investment activities. Among them, she named the tax, legislative, and regulatory frameworks.
Uzbekistan and the US have concluded 54 agreements in trade, investment, and technology totaling 12 billion dollars. The agreements cover transport, energy, mining, finance, digital technology, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
