Five-hour shootout occurred on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border — source

On the evening of September 22, a nearly five-hour shootout took place between Taliban forces and the Pakistani military in the border area of Afghanistan's Paktia province. According to Amu TV sources, several houses were damaged and some people were forced to flee their homes as a result of the clash in Zazi Aryub district.

No information was provided about casualties or injuries. Officials from both sides have not commented on the incident.

Meanwhile, on September 23, Pakistani security forces claimed to have shot down eight drones launched from Afghanistan near Kohat and Torkham.

According to a TOLOnews source, the Taliban denied reports of drones being launched into Pakistan from the Afghan side. The source added that the Afghan Air Force has not carried out any drone attacks so far.

These incidents occurred after Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Kunar and Paktika provinces. The UN mission in Afghanistan stated that at least three civilians were killed in the airstrikes in Kunar.

The Pakistani side claimed that during the military operations, "terrorist" targets near the border were targeted and 28 militants were eliminated.
