Reports have spread on social networks that amateur fishing will become paid following the introduction of the "Fishermen ID" system. The Fishery Development Center commented on this matter, stating that the current procedure will remain unchanged.

According to the legislation, it is allowed to fish up to 5 kg for free in public water bodies using non-prohibited gear and methods. According to the information provided by the Aquaculture Development Center, this opportunity will not be canceled and will not be made paid.
The "Fishermen ID", planned to be introduced on the basis of the President's Decree No. 122 dated July 2, 2026, will serve to consolidate paid services in the direction of sport-amateur fishing and ecotourism on a single platform.
Farms that have created special conditions for fishing can voluntarily place their services on the platform. Users will receive information about the location of the water body, conditions, service prices, and available spots, and book a place in advance. When a paid service is selected, an electronic receipt with a QR code will be issued after payment.
It is emphasized that "Fishermen ID" does not apply to the procedure of free fishing up to 5 kg in public water bodies. The system is designed solely to facilitate the use of specially organized sport-amateur fishing and ecotourism services.
