First shots from "Dune 3": Timothée Chalamet now appears as a cruel tyrant

In the first shots of the film "Dune 3", Timothée Chalamet appears in the role of a cruel tyrant.

Warner Bros. studio has released the first teaser for the film "Dune 3". The premiere of this film is scheduled for December 18, 2026.

The plot of the new part is based on the famous novel by writer Frank Herbert "The Messiah of Dune". This time, viewers will witness events that occur 17 years after the events of the second part. Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet and ascended to the imperial throne, is no longer the previous positive hero, but a cruel tyrant. He finds himself at the center of palace games and intrigues, and is drawn into another major war.

The franchise was directed by Denis Villeneuve. According to the director, this film will conclude the adventures of Paul Atreides and will be Villeneuve's last directorial work in the "Dune" films.

The film also features another unexpected surprise: actor Jason Momoa returns as the clone of Duncan Idaho, who died in the first film. The actor shaved his beard completely for the first time in six years for this role.

The cast includes Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, Florence Pugh, Robert Pattinson, Javier Bardem and others.

For your information, Denis Villeneuve's first Dune film, released in 2021, grossed over $400 million worldwide and won six Oscars. The second part, released in 2024, grossed over $700 million and was nominated for two Oscars.
