Explosion in Gulistan: Verdict announced in the case where 6 people died

6 people have been brought to criminal liability in connection with the explosion that occurred at a food outlet in the city of Gulistan.

“Expired service life”

According to the court verdict, the service life of the gas cylinders used at the food outlet, known among the population as the “Bek” teahouse, had already expired.

It was noted that the owner of the teahouse used gas cylinders produced in:

2000

(not technically inspected since 2015),

2010

(not technically inspected since 2015),

2013

(not technically inspected since 2018), and

2018

(not technically inspected since 2023).

Although labor protection instructions had been developed at the LLC, those responsible failed to monitor their implementation.

According to the conclusions of a comprehensive forensic examination, a gas cylinder produced in August 2010, which had not undergone a technical inspection since 2015, exploded in the kitchen. Namely, the gas cylinder ruptured under the influence of heat, resulting in a gas leak. It was noted that the flame in the cooking cauldron hearth acted as a heat source, causing the explosion.

“Filled at a gas station”

The gas cylinders were filled at an auto gas filling station the day before the incident, on December 1, 2025.

On that day, on the instructions of the LLC head, assistants from the maintenance department loaded 4 gas cylinders from the kitchen into a Damas vehicle and took them to an auto gas filling station. This CNG station did not have a license to engage in the sale of liquefied gas in household gas cylinders. Despite this, the station employees filled the expired gas cylinders.

On the morning of December 2, 2025, the assistants from the company's maintenance department connected the gas cylinders to the gas stoves and cauldrons in the kitchen. The cooks began preparing food using them. At 10:50, a gas cylinder connected to one of the cauldrons exploded.
