Erkinjon Turdimov: "Calling school principals to meetings is prohibited"

Minister of Education and Science of Uzbekistan Erkinjon Turdimov emphasized the need to prohibit calling school principals to various meetings during a conference dedicated to education issues.

"Calling school principals to meetings is strictly prohibited. I will go to the governor and tell him. It is strictly prohibited," the minister said.

According to him, schools should focus on educational content, while kindergartens should focus on upbringing.

"Schools should focus on content. Kindergartens should focus on upbringing. There is no need to attend meetings," Turdimov said.

The minister stated that if necessary, an employee responsible for administrative affairs could be sent to meetings instead of school principals.

Furthermore, citing an example from the time he worked at the regional hokimiyat (governor's office), the minister said he had strictly demanded not to call school principals to meetings. He also recalled that despite giving a similar directive in Syrdarya, employees still attended the meeting.
