Electronic ticket sales for concerts and sports competitions proposed in Uzbekistan

The draft resolution developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs provides for the prevention of reselling tickets at prices higher than established and their counterfeiting. It is also proposed to prohibit advertising the event and selling tickets until a permit is obtained.

It has been proposed to introduce electronic ticket sales for concerts and sports events in Uzbekistan

A system for selling tickets for concerts, sports events, and other mass events electronically may be established in Uzbekistan. This is stated in a draft government decision developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and published for public discussion.

The draft sets out the procedures for holding concerts, sports events, festivals, and other mass events involving 100 or more people.

In particular, it is proposed to sell tickets for cultural events, entertainment shows, and sports competitions electronically. The goal is to prevent the reselling of tickets above the established price and ticket counterfeiting.

It is also envisaged to prohibit organizers from announcing the event, advertising it, disclosing the date and venue, as well as selling tickets until the relevant permit is obtained.

The provisions of the draft decision will not apply to assemblies, rallies, street marches, and demonstrations. Weddings, family and anniversary events, as well as funeral ceremonies dedicated to the memory of the deceased, are also expected to be exempt from this procedure.

The public discussion of the draft decision will continue until November 20.
