EDB, Tajikistan partner on digital transformation and technology projects

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and Tajikistan's Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies have formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Development of Cooperation. This agreement is designed to foster digital transformation and advance digital initiatives within Tajikistan.
The signing ceremony took place in Dushanbe on August 28. Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board and Supervisor of the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives, and Mirzo Khurshed Faizullozoda, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan, were the signatories.
The memorandum outlines plans for collaboration on several fronts, including the digital transformation of public administration, the expansion of digital cooperation, and the introduction of new technology initiatives across Tajikistan. Furthermore, the partnership will address strategies to enhance the resilience and continuity of the nation's digital processes. Both the EDB and the agency intend to share their expertise and pinpoint potential areas for future digital projects.
Sargsyan commented on the collaboration, stating, "Digital transformation is, first and foremost, an opportunity to make public and economic processes more efficient, convenient, and resilient. The EDB is ready to share its expertise and digital solutions, as well as support the implementation of practical projects that create a long-term impact for the economy and society."
The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives, established in June 2020, aims to facilitate the development of tools and practices for the digital transformation of its member countries. Its activities encompass the integration of information resources and active participation in the development and financing of projects. The EDB operates as a multilateral development bank, investing in projects throughout Eurasia. As of the end of June 2026, its cumulative portfolio consisted of 348 projects, representing a total investment of $22.1 billion. The bank's portfolio predominantly features projects in transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering.
In line with its 2022–2026 Strategy, the EDB is currently executing three key projects: the Eurasian Transport Network, the Eurasian Agricultural Goods Distribution System, and the Central Asian Water and Energy Complex.
