Drug dealer jailed for 3D-printed gun murder

Marcin Buryta, 32, was previously convicted in Poland of killing a man at a birthday party

A convicted killer described as "weapons-obsessed" who used a partly 3D-printed pistol to murder an intruder has been jailed for at least 30 years.

Hampshire Police said Marcin Buryta, 32, found 45-year-old Piotr Pruszak at his home in Conifer Road, Southampton, in February and shot him four times.

Officers added that the defendant was a drug dealer who had previously killed a man at a birthday party in his native Poland when he was a teenager.

At Winchester Crown Court, he was sentenced to life for murder, two counts of possessing a firearm and one count of possessing ammunition with intent.

Piotr Pruszak was a "beloved son and brother", his family said

Buryta called police shortly before 20:00 GMT on 11 February to report that he had shot someone, the court heard.

Police said he then kept sending and receiving messages about the prices of cocaine and ketamine.

Officers found Pruszak at the address with gunshot wounds from a Glock pistol, parts of which had been home-printed.

Police later discovered two more firearms, a loaded crossbow, a machete, a dagger, knives and knuckle dusters at the property.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene

Jurors were told during the trial that Buryta was 19 when he fatally stabbed a man at a birthday party in Poland, police said.

Det Chief Insp Clair Trueman said: "Buryta is a man obsessed with weaponry, who didn't stop with the initial shots he fired that night, instead retrieving further ammunition and shooting again."

Previously, Pruszak's family, from Poland, paid tribute to their "beloved son and brother".
