Residents of the Chimyon and Mindon villages of Fergana district are mainly engaged in apricot cultivation. Dried apricot products in this region are in great demand in the domestic and foreign markets.

Now, special attention is being paid to processing these products using modern methods, adding value to them, and turning them into export-oriented brands.

An agro-complex “Fergana agro star” specializing in dried apricot processing is being built in the village of Chimyon. Regional governor Khairullo Bozorov inspected the construction process.

As part of the 50 billion soums project, 10,000 tons of apricots will be processed annually and more than 200 new jobs will be created.

The project aims to create added value by processing apricots and dried apricots grown in the region using modern technologies, increasing the range of finished products, and increasing export potential.

The agro-complex is planned to be launched in October this year.

The regional governor gave relevant instructions to those responsible for the high-quality organization of construction work and the completion of the project within the specified time frame.
