In the Mirabad District Criminal Court, a closed court hearing on the criminal case against Doniyor Turgunov has concluded. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent city courts.
According to the report, Doniyor Turgunov, born in 2010, was found guilty under paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim). In accordance with Article 85 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to 2 years and 4 months of imprisonment.
According to the verdict, the term of serving the sentence is calculated from February 27, 2026, when the preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to the defendant, meaning the convict will spend another 1 year and 9 months behind bars.
The presiding judge explained to the parties the content of the verdict, the right to appeal to court in a civil proceeding regarding the recovery of material and moral damage caused by the crime, as well as the timeframe and procedure for appealing the verdict.
As a reminder, on February 25, 2026, in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, minor Doniyor Turgunov, driving a BMW, struck road patrol service inspector Khosilbek Eshnazarov. The inspector died from severe injuries.
Following this, Doniyor Turgunov was taken into custody and charged under Article 267 (Carjacking) and paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 104 (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of a person) of the Criminal Code. It was later revealed that the carjacking charge was dropped.
