Declaration for importing goods into Uzbekistan can now be filed online

Passengers now have the opportunity to fill out a passenger customs declaration in advance through the my.gov.uz portal or the MyGov app. This makes it possible to prepare the document even before arriving at the border and present it to a customs officer in electronic format.

Through this service, one can declare goods, mobile devices, jewelry, and currency imported into Uzbekistan for personal needs. The form is allowed to be filled out before crossing the border, and the completed electronic document can be saved on a phone.

A declaration is required if the quantity or value of imported goods exceeds the established duty-free allowance limits. In particular, this applies to mobile phones and other devices, household appliances and electronics, jewelry, cash currency, certain categories of medicines, as well as goods under special control, including weapons, drones, radio-electronic equipment, and historical and cultural valuables.

At the same time, goods for personal use can be imported duty-free up to a value of one thousand dollars when crossing the border by air, up to 500 dollars by rail or river transport, and up to 300 dollars when entering by car or on foot. A customs payment is levied in accordance with the established procedure on the amount exceeding the set limit.

Separate norms apply to certain categories of goods. Thus, the import of up to 65 grams of gold and up to 200 grams of silver jewelry is allowed without a declaration, while a limit of one unit of each type is set for household appliances and electronics.

Earlier, the country began implementing a customs control system that automatically matches export declarations of foreign countries with import declaration data. If discrepancies are detected, the system generates a risk signal for additional verification or a customs audit.
