Criminal case opened against master of sports suspected of beating his wife in Tashkent

A criminal case has been opened in Tashkent against a sports master suspected of regularly beating his wife. The Nemolchi.uz project reported this with reference to the press service of the capital's Internal Affairs Directorate.

According to the victim, her husband, a Greco-Roman wrestling coach and master of sports, constantly beat her. Also, since the man did not provide for the family financially, the woman was forced to regularly take out loans to live with her two young children, including a one-year-old.

Under the post on Instagram, the coach's friends, brothers and sisters wrote that he was not that kind of person.

“They accused our project of slander, turned the victim into a joke and tried to justify their friends in any way. The victim claims that the attacker’s friends are calling her and pressuring her to withdraw her application,” the Nemolchi.uz report says.

It is noted that the female victim has now been issued a protection order and a forensic medical examination has been conducted.

A criminal case has been initiated against the male suspect under Part 3 of Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code (domestic violence), and pre-investigation measures are being carried out.
