**Costco to Consider Importing Goods from Uzbekistan to the United States**
Uzbek Consul General Akhror Burkhanov held talks with the management of the American corporation Costco Wholesale to discuss prospects for supplying Uzbek products to the US market. According to Dunyo news agency, Uzbekistan's export opportunities were presented during the meeting, along with samples of agricultural and other goods.
Costco representatives were shown the potential of Uzbek producers in sectors such as agriculture, textiles, and handicrafts. Specifically, the American side was shown samples of Uzbek raisins and dried apricots, which have already been approved for import to the US.
Costco management praised the quality and appearance of the raisins and expressed willingness to explore the possibility of selling them through its retail network.
The parties also discussed potential supplies of pistachios, walnuts, almonds, blueberries, cherries, grapes, pomegranates, and other fresh and dried fruits to the US.
The meeting focused on product packaging and labeling. The participation of Uzbek manufacturers in a product presentation planned for February next year was also discussed.
Promoting Uzbek textiles, national ceramics, tableware, and decorative handicrafts through Costco was also identified as a promising area.
Representatives of the American company expressed interest in introducing competitive products from Uzbekistan to their global purchasing teams.
