Cooperation with Uzbekistan Discussed in Rostov Oblast
Meetings dedicated to the development of interregional cooperation with Uzbekistan, issues of labor mobility, and the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens were held in the Rostov Oblast.
As part of the working visit, a meeting was held with the Governor of the Rostov Oblast, Yuri Slyusar.
The parties reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, industrial partnership, as well as further strengthening direct ties between the regions of Russia and Uzbekistan.
Special attention was paid to the labor mobility of Uzbek citizens and the improvement of mechanisms for issuing permits.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold a separate working meeting with the participation of the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Oblast. It is planned to address issues related to simplifying the procedures for obtaining labor patents by citizens of Uzbekistan.
The parties also discussed preparations for the visit of a Rostov Oblast delegation to Uzbekistan in March 2027. The Russian side expressed interest in including representatives of several industrial enterprises of the region in the delegation. This will allow for the establishment of direct business contacts and the exploration of opportunities for implementing joint projects.
Issues concerning the protection of the legal rights and interests of Uzbek citizens were reviewed during a meeting with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Rostov Oblast, Alexey Kharkovsky. The parties agreed to organize joint visits to enterprises and facilities where citizens of Uzbekistan work, with the participation of a designated representative of the Commissioner's office.
In addition, a meeting was held with citizens of Uzbekistan working at LLC "SSK AVAKON". Around 100 Uzbek citizens are employed at the enterprise. The main focus was on issues of consular and legal protection, compliance with the legal rights and interests of workers, as well as migration and labor legislation.
The citizens were provided with the necessary clarifications and practical recommendations.
Following the meetings, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue practical cooperation on developing interregional relations, improving organized labor mobility, and consistently protecting the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens.
