The 6th round matches of the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which is ongoing in the city of Samarkand, have taken place. In one of the central clashes, the main men's national team of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan-1) played against the reigning winner of the tournament — the national team of India.

Notably, prior to this match, both teams had won all of the previous 5 rounds, coming in with a one hundred percent record. At the end of the match, which was played in a tense and nervous atmosphere, the Uzbek chess players won with a score of 2.5 : 1.5, achieving an important victory.
