"Chasing money, I missed my child's childhood." Feruza Sobitova on her divorce from her husband and the upbringing of her son

“I chased money and missed my child’s childhood.” Feruza Sobitova on her divorce from her husband and raising her son
In an interview given to the YouTube channel of the “Darakchi” publication, actress Feruza Sobitova spoke about her entrepreneurial activities, her studies in psychology, her plans to return to her maiden name, as well as raising her son and her views on the future.
“When my child was young, I ran after money and missed his childhood years”
— Since my child was born, I spent 10 years running after money and did not notice how time flew by. When my child turned 10, I thought, “when did so much time pass?” When he was at his sweetest age, I handed him over to a nanny and ran around to make money myself. I was chasing money, thinking that I had to pay the nanny and feed the child. When my child turned 10, I started thinking about being with him and spending more time with my mother and my family. But right at that time, I developed a health problem. Because of my health problem, I later started studying a completely different field — psychology.
“Currently, I am engaged in entrepreneurship”
— Now I have my own businesses. I am engaged in entrepreneurship more than acting. One day I sat down and thought about how long I would keep running like this. I asked myself, “how long will you run like this, what will the life of actresses be like? Will you still be running for money at the age of 60?” On the contrary, at this age, you should be enjoying life, and money should come to you on its own. After I started acquiring knowledge, such thoughts kept coming to my mind. After that, taking into account that I am getting older, I started taking action.
I observed older actresses; well, that's life, maybe they have to, they run even when they are tired because they need money. We women are not meant to run after money a lot and get tired. On the contrary, we should enjoy living, says the actress.
“I say thank you to those who caused my change”
— The eyes of our soul do not open on their own. Only when you fall into such a situation where your closest people betray you, or you trust someone and the one you trusted turns out to be a different person. When I fell into depression at such a time, something started to change in me. Back then, I used to cry and worry about this. It turns out it was wrong of me to cry over these things. In fact, it happened because it was my time to grow. Today, I say thank you to those people. If there hadn't been such a sharp turn in my life, I wouldn't have grown to this level, she says.
“I will not buy a house or a car for my child”
— Many parents want to leave an inheritance for their child. They buy houses and cars. I will not do this for my son. Because if you buy these for your child, the child will not appreciate it. In fact, the child is not mine either, but Allah's. Therefore, every child comes with their own written life, sustenance, and destiny. My task is to introduce my child to Allah. I will spend the main investment on his education. Wherever he says he wants to go and study, I say “okay”. I do not spare my money for his education and physical health. Because even if a child's basic blood circulation is not good, laziness starts to appear in him. Therefore, I also have my son do sports activities, says Feruza Sobitova.
“I am both a mother and a father to my son”
— Now I am raising my son as both a mother and a father. We will see what is in our destiny. So, it was written in my destiny to raise my child without a father. Therefore, I took responsibility for my child. Previously, when I raised my child without a father, at times when I thought, “what will he say to me tomorrow”, he would tell me, “mom, it's a good thing I don't have a father. Because if my dad were here, I would be spoiled. But now it's not like that.” My 14-year-old son is so responsible that he has written down his goals for 20-30 years ahead. He keeps fish in an aquarium. At the age of six, he used to sell school supplies in front of our house. He has very big goals and intentions. Sometimes I learn a lot from him myself. He reflects my inner state like a mirror. Knowing my low self-confidence, my son says, “mom, you are Feruza Sobitova. It was not easy for you to reach this level. Therefore, raise your fee. Don't go just anywhere.”
“I am to blame for my divorce from my husband”
— I think I am more to blame for our divorce from Imronkhon's father. Because at that time, I did not have enough knowledge about relationships with a man. I thought a man was obliged to support the family and bring money. Maybe he didn't have money, maybe something happened at his work. When he said he had no money, I didn't believe him. I thought as if he didn't want to spend his money on his family. Because I was young, I didn't want to understand him. When the time comes, you also need to understand and love a man. Because he also likes to be loved.
“My ex-husband was not a famous actor”
— For some reason, everyone had heard that my spouse was a famous actor. But my son's father was not an actor, he was an entrepreneur. Currently, he has no relationship with my child. Because at the time, I hurt him deeply and closed all the doors tightly, says the actress.
“I will change my last name soon”
— In the near future, I will change my last name and return to my maiden name. Until now, I have been using my ex-husband's last name. From now on, I need to switch to my own last name. For my last name, if I take my grandfather's name, I will be Jumayeva, if I take his last name, I will be Muhiddinova. But for now, I don't know which one to choose, she says.
“Since my roles transferred into my life, I started choosing scripts”
— In the beginning, when I played the roles of rich women, I used to spend a lot of my money on clothes. One day I said, “I will play the role of poor people, so the money spent on clothes will stay with me.” At that time, I didn't understand this well. After I played the role of poor people, a financial crisis started for me. After I played the role of sick people, I got sick. After that, I understood that the roles I played in movies also happen in life. Since then, I read the script first. If my role is going to be sick or bad, I reject the offer. Recently, they called me for the character of a mother whose son becomes a drug addict. Without any hesitation, I did not accept the offer, says actress Feruza Sobitova.
