Cancer patients must receive necessary care in a timely manner — Medical Insurance Fund

Cancer patients must receive the necessary medical care in a timely manner, stated the State Medical Insurance Fund. "Cancer patients must be provided with necessary medical care in a timely manner. The electronic referral system was implemented not to complicate the treatment process, but to ensure the established order for organizing medical services, as well as accounting and transparency in their financing," the fund said in a statement.

The fund emphasized that it pays medical organizations for actually provided medical services (after the completion of treatment) based on the relevant medical documentation, contract terms, and approved base prices.

"The established financing procedure does not imply delaying treatment or depriving a patient of necessary medical care," the fund noted.
