BYD production in Uzbekistan doubled in seven months
The National Statistics Committee reported a 9.4% increase in passenger car production in Uzbekistan for January-July 2026, with BYD production more than doubling.

According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 263,731 passenger cars were produced in the country from January to July 2026, a 9.4% increase compared to 241,109 units produced in the same period last year.
Production of specialized passenger cars increased by 12.1%, reaching 32,445 units compared to 28,953 units a year earlier.
Among specific models, the Cobalt led the way in terms of production volume, with 91,140 units produced, a 9.6% increase from 83,167 units last year. The BYD model demonstrated the most impressive growth, with production volume more than doubling by 106.6% to 17,765 units compared to 8,601 units in January-July 2025.
Other models also saw significant growth. Kia production increased by 18.8% to 17,125 units compared to 14,419, while Haval production increased by 30.6% to 5,778 units compared to 4,425. Onix production increased by 9.1% to 20,445 units compared to 18,734.
At the same time, production of some models declined. Damas production decreased by 7.9% to 47,521 units compared to 51,587 units a year earlier. Tracker production decreased by 2.3%, to 25,779 units compared to 26,385, while Chery production decreased by 0.8%, to 4,801 units compared to 4,838.
The agency also announced the start of production of the Chevrolet Damas Move, with 932 of these vehicles produced from January to July.
