Uzbekistan's car manufacturing sector saw a significant boost in the first half of 2026, with production rising by almost 27,000 units. The Statistics Committee announced that 235,794 passenger vehicles of various models were produced during this period. This marks an increase of 26,800 vehicles compared to the same timeframe last year.

The Chevrolet Cobalt was the most produced model, with 82,951 units manufactured. The Damas came in second with 42,663 units, followed by the Tracker in third place with 23,249 units. Other models with high production volumes included the Onix at 18,715 units and KIA at 15,184 units.

Among the major brands and models, the Chevrolet Damas Move had the lowest production, with only 600 units. The combined production for all other miscellaneous passenger vehicle models reached 29,582 units.

This surge in production coincides with recent global electric vehicle sales rankings, which show China's BYD leading worldwide, underscoring the growing presence of Chinese car manufacturers in the Uzbek market.
