During an open dialogue with investors in the fuel and energy sector, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to create 22 thousand megawatts of new energy capacity in the country by 2030.

As a result, annual electricity production will exceed 129 billion kilowatt-hours, and the share of renewable energy in total production will reach 54 percent.

The head of state emphasized that 35 billion dollars of investment have been brought into the energy sector over the past decade. Due to solar, wind, and hydroelectric power plants, the share of renewable energy has reached 31 percent, while "green" energy capacity stands at 11.1 gigawatts.

During the open dialogue, agreements were signed on 6 major projects worth a total of 4.7 billion dollars. Under these projects, 3 thousand megawatts of electricity generation capacity and 400 megawatts of energy storage capacity will be created.

The President emphasized that new energy projects will be implemented based on open competition and transparent terms.

"We do not need separate power plants, but an interconnected energy system," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

For this purpose, 6 solar and wind power plant projects with a total capacity of 2,200 megawatts will be put out to open tender in the near future.

In addition, a National Master Plan for the energy sector through 2050 will be developed for the first time. A map of grid connection capabilities will be published by March 1, 2027, and the full master plan will be announced by July 1.

Opportunities will also be created for "green" energy producers to earn additional income through certificates and carbon credits.
