A survey by the Central Bank showed: 53% of entrepreneurs in Tashkent and the region noted an improvement in the business environment in the second quarter of 2026.
Business sentiment in Tashkent rose in the second quarter
The share of entrepreneurs in Tashkent and the Tashkent region who noted an improvement in business conditions reached 53% in the second quarter of 2026 — 3 percentage points more than a year earlier, when the figure stood at 50%. This was reported by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on the results of a business activity survey.
According to the survey data, the share of respondents who recorded an increase in order volume was 51% compared to 47% in the second quarter of 2025. An increase in production volume was reported by 50% of survey participants — a year earlier, this figure was at 43%.
Demand for additional labor was noted by 43% of entrepreneurs compared to 41% a year ago, and an increase in cargo transportation volume was also reported by 43% compared to 42% in 2025. An increase in payments on loans and borrowings was reported by 37% of respondents compared to 36% a year earlier.
The capacity utilization rate at enterprises rose by 18 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
Assessments for the next quarter also improved. An increase in order volume is expected by 51% of entrepreneurs compared to 50% in 2025, an increase in production volume by 46% compared to 45%, and an increase in demand for labor by 45% compared to 44% a year earlier.
According to the survey, the growth in order volume is expected mainly in manufacturing, agriculture, and construction.
The share of entrepreneurs who expressed confidence in the improvement of the economy and business environment over the next three years reached 82% — 25 percentage points higher than the figure for the second quarter of 2025, when it was 57%.
