Bus stations and railway stations may be exempted from taxes for up to 3 years
In Uzbekistan, bus stations and railway stations may be exempted from taxes for a period of three years. The Ministry of Transport has published a draft resolution on this matter on the portal for discussing draft normative-legal documents.
According to the project, it is proposed to exempt bus stations, bus stops, railway stations, and local airports in Uzbekistan from property and land taxes from January 1, 2027, to January 1, 2030.
Additionally, the Central Bank, through commercial banks, may introduce a mechanism to allocate long-term loans on favorable terms to entrepreneurs for the construction, reconstruction, and modernization of bus stations and bus stops. Such loans are also planned to be directed toward purchasing new minibuses for passenger transportation on intracity, suburban, and intercity routes.
Furthermore, it is envisaged to allow the construction of various complexes on up to 20 percent of the bus station territory. These may include electric vehicle charging stations, catering facilities, hotels, technical service points, car washes, and shops.
The discussion of the draft resolution will continue until November 11.
