After all, he starred in the series “Osman the Magnificent” for five years, and the actor’s image was so firmly established that everyone remembered him for this role.

The plot centers on the story of Kenan, a prominent heir to the influential Kozan family, and his mother, Jalodat. It was she who sent her son to Germany at one time, and there her son met Leyla. The girl is accustomed to her freedom, is a supporter of progressive relationships and resolutely opposes various traditions.

Kenan, on the other hand, received a different upbringing, but remains powerless before the feelings he feels for Leyla. The main conflict in the story is based on the conflict between a sense of duty and personal feelings, and this is especially evident when Jalodat finds Kenan the ideal bride - Khanzoda.

The story also includes the confrontation between two mothers - Jalodat and Davron, dark family secrets, intrigues and struggles for inheritance. Judging by the descriptions on the Internet, it can be said that the series focuses on universal themes and reveals them through the personal experiences of the characters.

As I noted above, this new story for Turkish television is being created by the production company Tims&B, which presented viewers with such series as "A Completely Different Man", "Ashraf and Royo" and "A Magnificent Hundred Years".

This allows us to assume that the project will be large-scale and will last several seasons. The premiere of the series is planned to take place on ATV.

The directors of the “Sunrise” project are two: Çağrı Vila Lostuvali (“Croupier”, “This City Follows You”, “Abandoned”) and Çigdem Bozali (“House of the Innocents”). Both of them prefer to work in the genres of drama and melodrama, which is a great fit for the concept of the series.

The script is written by Yildiz Tunç, who is familiar to fans of Turkish TV series with her plots for the series “1001 Nights” and “Chilparçin”. She has extensive experience in creating intense and tense family dramas, so viewers are guaranteed interesting events.

The filming of the new series began on August 14, 2026 in Adana. The legendary fortress, familiar to fans of the series “Once Upon a Time in Çukurova”, was chosen as the main location.

The situation with the series “Sunrise” was quite complicated from the very beginning. Initially, the role of the main male character, Kenan, was given to Ugur Gunes. Although the actor was ready to start filming, at the last moment everything changed and his role was given to Burak Ozchivit.

The team tried to make it seem as if the actor had voluntarily terminated the contract, but Ugur Gunes hinted that he had been deprived of the role. Insiders wrote that Burak read the script, liked the actor, and then asked to be given the role of Kenan. Tims&B management agreed and canceled the contract with Ugur Gunes to make room for the star of the series “The Magnificent Century”.

For a long time, they could not find a suitable partner for the actor to play the role of Layla. As a result, the leading role went to actress Beyza Gümüşçin.

A special highlight of the new series is actress Sibel Tashcioglu (Pembe in "Red Juice") as Kenan's mother, Jeladet. It is she who chooses a suitable bride for her son and opposes his relationship with Leyla.

According to them, the series “The Place of the Rising Sun” will be shown on ATV TV on Thursdays, and the first episode will be broadcast on September 17 or 24, 2026. The new series will compete with much more “strong” series such as “Voris: Ajdodlar Chorlovi” and “Sen men sevgan inson”.
