Beggars punished for fighting over a "tochka" in Tashkent

Two people - a 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman - were brought to justice after a dispute over a place to beg near the "Uzbekistan" metro station in Tashkent.

The Shaykhontohur District Court found them guilty under Article 183 (petty hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 188-3 (begging) of the Code of Administrative Offenses. As a result, the young man was sentenced to 3 days of administrative detention, and the woman was fined 1 million 236 thousand soums.
