On October 29–30, the final games of the 5th "Zakovat-Gambit" chess tournament were held in Tashkent. A total of 5,831 chess players registered to participate in this year's competition.
The final matches held at the "Zakovat Arena" lasted for two days. Based on the results of 9 rounds in total, the winners were determined in five groups.
Within the framework of the tournament, a chess simul was also organized with the participation of Hungarian Grandmaster Peter Leko and Indian Grandmaster Humpy Koneru. Young chess players tested their strength against world chess stars.
On October 30, the award ceremony for the winners took place at the "Uzbekfilm" pavilion. The total prize fund of the competition amounted to 620 million sum.
