Within the framework of the joint initiative of Uzum and PUBG MOBILE, 5,000 schoolchildren received school supplies
The activity of the gaming community in Uzbekistan has turned into practical assistance for children from low-income families: more than 2 million participations were registered in the special PUBG MOBILE event. With the support of the ONA Foundation, backpacks, notebooks, and other school supplies were handed over to children in 14 cities of Uzbekistan as part of the joint initiative of Uzum and PUBG MOBILE.
The charity initiative combined technology, the gaming community, and a social mission around one simple idea: giving users the opportunity to help children in their usual digital environment. In the special free PUBG MOBILE event, which did not require purchases or donations, the more actively players participated, the more help could be provided. Each school kit was co-funded by Uzum and PUBG MOBILE. Thanks to Uzum's logistics infrastructure, the kits were delivered not only to major cities but also to small and remote settlements across the country.
"Preparing a child for school requires significant expenses for many families. This burden can be especially noticeable for large and low-income families. It was important for us that children not only in major cities but all over Uzbekistan received help, and the Uzum team regularly helps us in making this happen," said a representative of the ONA Foundation.
"Games unite millions of people, and we wanted to channel this collective energy into real help. Together, the participants completed in-game tasks, and their collective activity turned into school supplies for children. We are very pleased that together with Uzum and the ONA Foundation, we were able to implement the first project of this format in Uzbekistan," said Hongda Lu, Regional Manager of PUBG MOBILE.
"For us, this project is another opportunity to show that technology can serve people, help solve even complex tasks more easily, and create more equal opportunities for residents of both the capital and small settlements. We are grateful to PUBG MOBILE and ONA for the opportunity to be part of an important initiative and to bring joy to thousands of children," said Mariya Skorik, Director of Communications and ESG Projects at Uzum.
