The strikes were carried out shortly after the Israeli army announced that operational control had been established over the strategic Ali al-Tahir hill in southern Lebanon. The Israelis stated that a network of tunnels belonging to "Hezbollah" fighters was discovered and neutralized in this area. The Lebanese side has not officially confirmed the reports about Israel establishing control over the hill.

Reporting from the scene, the 18-year-old girl killed in the Israeli strikes was Maryam Salameh. The deceased's relative, Ali Suleiman, said in an interview with a journalist that the family had been displaced for six months due to Israeli bombardments, but had returned to their home the day before the Israeli strike.

"What target was there here? Everyone here was civilians," he said.

According to Suleiman, Maryam was recently awarded a certificate of honor for graduating from school with excellent grades. But today, her family has another document — a death certificate.

"Hezbollah" condemned the strikes carried out by Israel. This is the organization's first official reaction following reports that Israel had captured the Ali al-Tahir hill. However, the statement did not mention this hill.

The strikes occurred shortly after the Israeli side released five Lebanese prisoners. The International Committee of the Red Cross assisted in returning four of them to Lebanon. Another person was released a day earlier.

"Hezbollah" called the release of the prisoners important. However, it emphasized that this situation cannot be an excuse to turn a blind eye to Israel's continuation of its "policy of aggression and occupation." The organization also criticized the Lebanese government's direct negotiations with Israel.
