The operetta "Arshin Mal Alan" left an unforgettable impression on Azerbaijani guests and Bukhara spectators, once again demonstrating the friendship of brotherly nations through art.

The Azerbaijan Culture Days held in ancient Bukhara turned into a platform of friendship among peoples and cultural dialogue, reflecting a vast history, national art, and the unity of brotherly nations. As part of the "Azerbaijan Culture Days" organized in the city, the Azerbaijani guests shared the rich culture, national art, and traditions of their people with the residents of Bukhara.

During the solemn meetings, the shared history, language, customs, and spiritual values that have bound the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples for centuries were particularly highlighted.

"Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are bound not only by neighborly or diplomatic relations, but also by centuries-old history, shared values, and sincere affection between our peoples. It is a great pleasure for us to showcase our culture in a city with such a great history as Bukhara Sharif. I believe that these meetings will further strengthen the ties between our peoples," said Rashad Mammadov.

Within the framework of the Culture Days, cultural events were organized at the Youth Center in the city of Bukhara and in the historical "Kukaldosh" madrasah.

Azerbaijan's national tunes and songs, passionate performances, and unique musical traditions gave the audience an elevated mood.

In particular, the staging of the famous operetta "Arshin Mal Alan" by the great Azerbaijani composer Hajibeyov at Bukhara State University became one of the bright events of the cultural program.

"When the melody of 'Arshin Mal Alan' spread across the Old City of Bukhara Sharif, there was no room to step anywhere around. People flooded in to such an extent that their passion for art and the rhythm of music, their joining in dance and continuing the performances themselves, increased our affection even more," the ambassador said enthusiastically.

In addition, the performance staged by the "Kharibulbul" theater troupe of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev under the Embassy of Azerbaijan allowed the audience to discover the unique aspects of national theater art.

Rashad Mammadov mentioned that he received a great impression from the seminar-meetings held at Bukhara State University on the topic "Azerbaijani–Uzbek Historical and Cultural Relations." At these meetings, students were presented with the Winter 2025–2026 issue of the "Irs-Miras" magazine published in the Uzbek language. Published under the slogan "Discover Azerbaijan," this publication serves to introduce the rich heritage of the Azerbaijani people to Uzbek readers through materials on history, culture, and anthropology.

"One of the most valuable impressions that our Azerbaijani guests will take away from Bukhara is undoubtedly the hospitality and sincere attitude shown by our people. These meetings open the way for both nations to understand each other even more closely, for the younger generation to grow up in a spirit of respect for cultural heritage, and for new cooperation initiatives," said the regional governor, Botir Zaripov.
