Another compatriot of ours has been awarded a Japanese order
The former Chargé d'Affaires of Uzbekistan in Tokyo, Alisher Akhundjanov, has been awarded Japan's "The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays with Rosette".
The award was presented in Tashkent by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Kenji Hirata.
This award was given in recognition of Alisher Akhundjanov's long-standing contribution to strengthening relations and developing friendly ties between Japan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the Japanese Embassy, Alisher Akhundjanov made a significant contribution to the opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan and, as the first Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan, assisted in the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
He also served as the Head of the Department for Cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Region Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, making a great contribution to the improvement of the Japanese prisoners of war cemetery in Tashkent.
In recent years, a number of our compatriots have been awarded prestigious Japanese honors.
In 2024, the Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, People's Artist Akmal Nur (Nuriddinov), was presented with the Japanese Emperor's "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon".
In 2023, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Affairs, Abdulaziz Kamilov, was awarded the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun".
In 2022, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Sodiq Safoev, was presented with the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun".
