Another case of animal cruelty recorded in Tashkent. Video

Another case of animal cruelty has been recorded in Tashkent. A video sent by readers to the editorial office of Podrobno.uz shows a man in the entrance of a residential building grabbing a kitten several times, pressing it to the floor, and twisting its left front paw. Later, a veterinary clinic diagnosed the animal with a fracture of the radius bone.

The incident occurred on the evening of October 28. According to surveillance camera footage, the incident lasted about four minutes — from 22:29 to 22:33.

In the initial footage, the kitten runs away from the man to the ground floor and hides under a baby stroller near the locked entrance door. The man follows, pulls the animal out, and carries it upstairs. As he moves out of the camera's field of view, the kitten's squeal can be heard off-camera.

Then the animal tries to escape again. The recording shows the kitten limping as it climbs the stairs.

Another camera captured the kitten lying down near the elevator. The man enters an apartment, then returns, picks the animal up, and carries it down to the landing. There, he places the kitten on the floor, presses it down with his hands, and twists its front left paw, after which he leaves.

According to the veterinary clinic report, the kitten was found to have a fracture of the left radius bone. The document also notes that the animal cannot put weight on the injured paw.

Such actions require the attention of law enforcement agencies. In particular, the man's actions may show signs of an offense under Article 111 of the Code of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility ("Cruelty to Animals"). If it is established that the animal suffered a maiming injury as a result of the cruelty, the offender could face a fine ranging from 15 to 25 base calculating values or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
