Another 1 km long dedicated lane was put into operation in Tashkent.
A new dedicated bus lane, nearly 1 kilometer long, was put into operation on Shahrisabz Street in Tashkent city.
According to the report, the total length of the continuous BRT (bus rapid transit) corridor organized along Shota Rustaveli and Shahrisabz Streets has now reached almost 8 kilometers.
The new lane is located on the section of Shahrisabz Street from the intersection with Amir Temur Avenue to the intersection with Makhtumkuli Street — covering the distance from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies to Maternity Complex No. 6 of Tashkent city.
It is noted that the BRT lanes organized in the central part of the road reduce the dependence of buses on traffic congestion in the general transport flow. As a result, bus delays will be reduced, the regularity of trips will increase, and passengers will have the opportunity to plan their travel time to their destination more accurately.
It is also stated in the report that a single transport corridor that will connect the Sergeli and Yunusabad districts of the capital in the future is being formed step by step.
In September, the first phase of the BRT lane on Shahrisabz Street was put into operation.
