International Festival of Khorezm Khans' Dishes to be Held in Khiva
On September 19–20, 2026, the "Arda Xiva" tourist complex in Khiva will host the II International Gastronomic Festival "National Dishes of the Khorezm Khans."
Over the course of two days, guests will be able to discover the gastronomic heritage of Khorezm, ancient recipes, and traditional dishes of the region. As part of the festival, it is planned to prepare more than 20 dishes of Khorezmian cuisine, as well as about 10 dishes of national cuisines from different countries.
Participants will present traditional dishes such as tukhum barak, kuk barak, kovok barak, shivit oshi, manti, gumma, meat kovurma, dimlama, kazan-kebab, jigar-kebab, tuncha-shurpa, mastava, patyr, bogirsok, and katlama.
In addition to Khorezmian cuisine, visitors will be able to taste national dishes of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, India, China, South Korea, and Italy.
The festival program will also include gastronomic competitions. The winners will receive valuable gifts and cash prizes.
The organizers emphasize that the festival is aimed at popularizing the gastronomic heritage of Khorezm, demonstrating the tourism potential of the region, and creating an international platform for the exchange of culinary traditions of different nations.
