An experimental station for growing new grape varieties is being established

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 491 dated September 17, 2026, "On measures to further increase the efficiency of the activities of research institutions in the field of agriculture" provides for a number of measures.

The document establishes the creation of an experimental station under the founders of the Academician M. Mirzaev Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking. The goal is to introduce "in vitro" cultivation and widely distribute new grape varieties "Kishmish Sogdiana", "Kora kishmish" and "Avatar" based on the experience of the Ishtikhon district of the Samarkand region.

According to the document, land plots (as per the list) will be leased to the experimental station and the Research Center for Breeding of the Agency for the Development of Animal Husbandry and Pasture Economy.

On the land plot allocated for the Experimental Station, it is planned to establish vineyards, increase grape yields, as well as test and introduce the obtained scientific and practical results, resource-saving experience, modern technologies and methods into agricultural production.
