Claude P. Moore, a resident of Detroit, USA, has earned a spot in the Guinness World Records by creating the world's largest rubber band ball.

Claude started collecting rubber bands 10–11 years ago while making frequent visits to the doctor. In 2015, his colleagues suggested creating a giant ball from the collected rubber bands. Over time, the ball grew so large that it no longer fitted in the garage and had to be moved to a special storage container.

Eventually, the weight of the ball reached 5,251 kilograms, which is roughly equal to the weight of an adult elephant. To weigh the giant ball and officially record the achievement, it was transported to Belle Isle with the help of a special crane and dozens of people. There, an official representative of the Guinness World Records confirmed the new world record.

The previous record was set in 2008 by Joel Waul, a resident of Florida. The rubber band ball he assembled weighed 4,097 kilograms.
