Uzbekistan experienced power outages following an incident in the Kazakh power grid that affected the unified power grid of Central Asia. Power supply in the country is currently being gradually restored, according to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the National Electric Grids, specialists are actively working to eliminate the consequences of the outage and return the power grid to normal operation.
The incident occurred on August 14 at 2:38 PM. Lines L-5400, L-5300, and L-5320 were disconnected, triggering the emergency control system in the networks of JSC Alatau Zharyk Company.
As a result, some consumers in Almaty and the Almaty region were left without power. According to local media reports, the disconnected load reached 300 MW.
In Uzbekistan, power supply to consumers is being restored in stages as the consequences of the power grid failure in Kazakhstan are being addressed.
