Tonight, from 21:00 on September 22 to 04:00 on September 23, a temperature inversion is expected to occur due to the cooling of the air in the near-surface layer while relatively warm air remains in the upper layers.
According to meteorological forecasts, the wind speed in the city of Tashkent will decrease to 0.5–1 m/s in certain hours. This situation slows down the vertical mixing of air.
Due to the lack of precipitation, airborne particles may persist for a longer period. This condition is likely to lead to the accumulation of PM2.5 and PM10 particles in the near-surface air layer.
According to forecasts, in most areas of the capital, from 22:00 to 01:00, the air quality may deteriorate to the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" level according to the AQI standard.
In the morning, as the earth's surface warms up, the inversion is expected to weaken, vertical air mixing will strengthen, and air quality will gradually improve.
Therefore, it is recommended not to stay outdoors for a long time in the evening.
Currently, the quality of atmospheric air is being constantly monitored by the Special Commission.
