Afghanistan has become the main source of business trips to Uzbekistan

In January–September 2026, 357.5 thousand foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for commercial purposes. Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 34.8 thousand people, or by 10.8%. This was reported by the National Committee on Statistics.

The majority of visitors were citizens of Afghanistan — 323,660 people. Turkmenistan took second place, with 24,196 people arriving from there, and Tajikistan was third with a figure of 6,412 people.

The number of visitors from other countries was noticeably lower. 695 people arrived from Kyrgyzstan, 629 from Kazakhstan, 370 from Russia, and 346 from Turkey. Another 1,150 foreign citizens arrived for commercial purposes from other countries.

Thus, citizens of Afghanistan accounted for the overwhelming majority of foreigners who visited Uzbekistan for commercial purposes in the first nine months of 2026.
