Advance payments for electricity and gas will be reduced to 15% for businesses in Uzbekistan.

Starting November 1 of this year, prepayments for electricity and gas for entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan will be reduced to 15% of monthly consumption. This change will apply to those connected to automated energy metering systems. These changes are enshrined in a presidential decree aimed at supporting businesses.

This benefit will be available to businesses equipped with meters that can be remotely controlled (switched on and off). An exception will be made for entrepreneurs who have violated payment discipline over the past two months.

At the same time, the requirement for businesses using automated metering systems to submit written consumption reports to their local electricity and gas supply organizations will be waived.

Electricity and gas supply contracts will also be converted to electronic format, eliminating the need for paper contracts.

These measures, enshrined in Presidential Decree No. 175, are intended to reduce entrepreneurial expenses and ease the administrative burden.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to reduce mandatory prepayment for electricity and natural gas during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs. This decision was made in response to complaints from business representatives who pointed out that full prepayment was reducing their working capital.

It should be noted that the same decree announced an economic amnesty, "Second Chance," for small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan.
