Additional powers will be granted to prevention inspectors

A new system of operation will be introduced into the public safety activities of the internal affairs bodies.

According to the decision, the activities of the public safety units of the internal affairs bodies will be established as an integrated system based on the following priority working mechanisms:

- prompt response to appeals and messages of citizens, regardless of the line of service and the territory of service;

- establishing direct, close, and open communication with the population and assisting in solving their problems that may lead to offenses;

- early detection and elimination of the causes and factors of offenses directly on the spot, and establishing targeted preventive work with persons at risk on a daily basis.

Administrative liability will be established for obstructing a prevention inspector in the performance of their official duties.

Prevention inspectors will be granted the following additional powers:

- to apply administrative warning penalties for 17 types of minor administrative offenses committed for the first time within their scope of consideration;

- to apply administrative penalties for 4 types of administrative offenses related to traffic violations on neighborhood streets and sidewalks in terms of ensuring road safety;

- to consider cases and apply administrative penalties for 9 types of administrative offenses within the competence of the head of the district (city) internal affairs body or their deputies.
