A walk on gold: An unusual pedestrian walkway to open in Dubai by the end of the year
Rashid al-Hammoudi, Senior Director of Commercial Direction at Dubai Gold District, told the Emarat Al Youm publication that the new facility is expected to open within the next two months.
The walkway is said to offer residents and tourists the opportunity to walk along a golden path. The initiative is aimed at attracting more visitors to the shopping area and strengthening Dubai's position as a hub for tourism and global gold trade.
However, the report does not provide details regarding the exact length of the walkway, how much gold will be used in it, or its construction.
Al-Hammoudi also announced plans to establish a new exhibition complex in the commercial area. It is intended to become the largest exhibition venue for gold and jewelry trade in the Middle East.
Currently, the infrastructure of the Dubai Gold District is being expanded. It is noted that demand from gold and jewelry companies wishing to open their branches here is increasing.
According to Al-Hammoudi's forecast, the number of companies relocating their operations to this area could increase by 10–20 percent during 2027. The expansion plans also include the creation of new offices and retail spaces.
