Truck driver disables power transmission line from Qashqadaryo to Samarkand
On September 21 at 11:18 AM, a truck raised its bed to dump waste and touched the 500 kV "L-527" power transmission line, which transmits electricity from Qashqadaryo region to Samarkand region. As a result, this line suffered an emergency shutdown.
This line is part of the single 500 kV power transmission system chain, and its shutdown also affected the generation capacity of wind power plants in the Bukhara region — consequently, the generation volume of these wind plants decreased by 270 MW.
The emergency protection systems in the power grid were activated in a timely manner, preventing major failures, and due to reserve capacities, this accident did not have any impact on the electricity supply to consumers.
Necessary measures were taken by power engineers, the malfunction was eliminated at 11:37 AM, and the power transmission line was put back into operation.
When the power engineers arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle was not present at the site.
Regarding the incident, relevant documents have been submitted to law enforcement agencies to legally assess the actions of the truck driver.
