Tax Incentive Approved for Startup Investors in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, investors with the "Startup Investor" status will be exempt from personal income tax on the sale of shares in startup projects. The condition is holding the shares for at least three years.

This measure is provided for by Presidential Decree No. UP-175 dated August 27, 2026, on the implementation of tasks defined at the 6th open dialogue with entrepreneurs.

The "Startup Investor" status can be obtained by individuals who have invested money in the authorized capital of startups registered on the Unified Electronic Platform of the Startup Ecosystem. Investments can be made, among other ways, under SAFE agreements or convertible loan agreements.

The incentive will not apply to investors who have held shares for less than 36 months.
