Student dormitory worth 195.7 billion soums put up for sale in Tashkent

The State Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan announced the sale of a student dormitory building in the Olmazor district of Tashkent.

The property is located in the Ziyo makhalla at 2 Talabalar Street, near the intersection with the Little Ring Road. It is part of a complex of four student dormitories. Currently, it houses dormitory No. 2 of the Tashkent State University of Law.

The total area of the buildings and structures is 8,972 sq. m, and the land plot covers 1.02 hectares. The facility is connected to water supply, gas, electricity, and sewerage. The auction for the lot is scheduled for November 4 at 10:00.

The starting price of the object is 195.66 billion soums, with a deposit amount of 5.87 billion soums, which constitutes 3% of the initial cost.

The basis for privatization was Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 361 of July 2, 2026. This document was adopted in a closed format and is absent from the lex.uz legislation database.

One of the key conditions of the sale is the deferred transfer of the property to the new owner.

As stated in the announcement, the state organizations using the premises must vacate them after moving to the modern campus of the Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL).

Only after this will the property be handed over to the buyer, who will obtain the right to use the real estate. However, the exact date for vacating the building is not specified in the auction terms.

The construction of the new campus for the Tashkent State University of Law is provided for by a presidential decree dated November 26, 2025.

According to the document, the university is to receive a modern campus on the territory of New Tashkent. Funds from international financial institutions, foreign banks, and construction companies are planned to be attracted for the project's implementation. Design and construction are scheduled for 2025–2028.

On October 17, 2026, a groundbreaking ceremony for the new buildings of the Ministry of Justice and TSUL took place in New Tashkent. Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov attended the event.

On the territory of the current campuses of the Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL), it is planned to house the Museum of the History of Law of Uzbekistan, the Dispute Resolution Center of Uzbekistan, as well as centers for digital law and digital forensic science under the university.
