A strong earthquake was recorded in Panama

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), a 7.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in Panama.

The tremor was recorded on Friday at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time (22:56 Tashkent time). The epicenter of the earthquake was located 10 km southwest of the Pitalosa-Arriba settlement, with its source at a depth of 33 km.

At the time of preparing this report, no information had been received about casualties or destruction.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) stated that there is a possibility of dangerous tsunami waves occurring on the coasts of Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and other countries in Central America and the Pacific basin.
