A shepherd who killed a classmate who demanded the return of his sheep in the Tashkent region was sentenced to 19 years in prison

A shepherd who killed his classmate in the Tashkent region was sentenced to 19 years in prison. The incident occurred in the Parkent district, where the shepherd killed his classmate in response to his demand to return his sheep. The Daryo publication has reviewed the court documents and reported the details.
Born in Tashkent in 1985, Sohibnazar Kyrgyzbayev (all names have been changed) has been working as a shepherd on a farm owned by his uncle in the Parkent district since April 2023.
**A promise to breed sheep**
In November of that year, Sohibnazar met his classmate Temurkobil Oybulokov. During the conversation, Sohibnazar offered Temurkobil to buy sheep and raise them with the farm's livestock. Temurkobil agreed to this offer. According to the agreement, he gave Sahibnazar a total of 60 million soums to buy 9 sheep, and then 40 more, in 2023–2024.
Sahibnazar kept the sheep for a while, but when his debts increased, he sold all the sheep in December 2024 and January 2025 and used the money to pay off his personal debts.
In addition, he promised Temurqobil's acquaintance Mirzohid to keep and multiply the sheep, and received 31.5 million soums from him. With this money, he bought 9 sheep, kept them for a certain period of time, and then sold them.
Temurqobil and Mirzohid were not the only ones who believed Sahibnazar's promise to increase the number of sheep. He also introduced himself as an experienced shepherd to another acquaintance, Elomon, and offered to raise the sheep with his farm's livestock if he gave him money. Elomon believed the offer and gave him a total of 60 million soums in installments from October 2024 to March 2025. Sahibnazar sent videos to Elomon and reported to him in order to make it look like the sheep were bought with the money. In fact, he did not buy a single sheep with the money he was given, but instead spent the 60 million soums he had saved up for six months on paying off other debts.
**He took the sheep to the mountains under the pretext of showing them off**
By the summer of 2025, Temurqobil and Mirzohid began to firmly demand the return of the sheep. However, Sahibnazar had no way to return the sheep he had sold or pay for them. Instead of telling the truth, he tried to distract them with various excuses.
When the two demanded their sheep, Sahibnazar told them that the sheep were grazing in the Altinbel mountain range in the “Kumushkon” neighborhood. Finally, on September 30, 2025, he promised to show them the sheep and return them, and led his two acquaintances to the hill at around 23:00.
While they were walking along the hill, Sahibnazar turned the hands of Mirzahid, who was walking in front, behind his back and hit him on the head. However, Mirzahid resisted and escaped from his grasp. Hearing the noise, Temurqobil came to stop Sahibnazar and asked him not to do this. But the shepherd also attacked him. He unexpectedly hit Temurqobil in the face, knocking him down, then picked up a stone from the ground and hit him on the head twice. Temurqabil died at the scene from his serious injuries.
After that, Sahibnazar also tried to kill Mirzohid, throwing stones at him. However, Mirzohid managed to escape from the scene using the darkness.
**In court, he explained his actions with “stress”**
Sahibnazar admitted in court that he sold the sheep and used the money belonging to the victims to pay off other debts. “They demanded that I return the sheep and started insulting me. Because of this, I became stressed and did not know what I was doing,” he said in his testimony in court.
Mirzohid, however, stated that there was no quarrel between them and that he did not insult Sahibnazar.
By the verdict of the Parkent District Court on criminal cases, Sohibnazar Kyrgyzbayev was found guilty of committing crimes provided for in Article 97, Part 2, Subparagraphs “j” and “i”, Article 25, Part 2, Subparagraphs “a” and “i”, Article 167, Part 2, Subparagraphs “a” and “b”, and Article 168, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code. By partially adding the imposed sentences, he was sentenced to 19 years of continuous imprisonment for a set of crimes. He was also ordered to recover material damage in the amount of 231.5 million soums from him in favor of the victims.
