A road accident in Tashkent region claimed the lives of two people.

A traffic accident in the Tashkent region has killed two people.

A 39-year-old man and his five-year-old son died in the accident in the Tashkent region.

According to preliminary investigations, the driver of a Cobalt, while overtaking, forced the driver of a Spark into the oncoming lane. The Spark then left the roadway and overturned, according to the Tashkent Region Police Department.

The incident occurred on August 15 at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the Korasuv-Buka-Bekabad highway. Video footage circulating on social media shows the Cobalt overtaking on a two-lane road, creating a dangerous situation for an oncoming Spark.

After the critical situation arose, the Spark driver lost control, drove onto the shoulder, and overturned. The Cobalt driver did not stop after the accident and continued driving.

Law enforcement identified the Cobalt driver the same day. He was identified as 30-year-old Kh. A., who was detained.

The Milliy TV channel's "Millar" program reported that a 39-year-old man and his five-year-old child were in the Spark.

They died at the scene of the accident. Another woman in the car was injured and hospitalized.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 266, Part 3, Item "a" of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan—violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation resulting in casualties.

An investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
